Pussy Willow Saves
Pussy willow bends low -
weeps,
mirrors mama cat,
sad, for her drowning kits.
The little ones grabbing branches
for purchase, they cling
onto the fur-like buds,
which burst forth
while springtime winds blow.
Weeping pussy willow tree
cries, grows, then bends
its fuzzy catkins
to save the climbing babies.
