Revealing the Spring

Revealing the Spring

Leaving the window open

An inch or so

As the temperature rises

Revealing the spring

Watching the night

At three a.m.

A translucent moon

In a starless sky

A curtain of clouds

Recedes with the sun

Rising slowly in the east

As the shadows withdraw

Buds on the trees

Just barely perceptible

Forecasting the bounty

Revealing the spring

Songbirds and robins

Appearing quite sudden

Crocuses popping

Tiny heads through the earth

A plethora of riches

A rite of rejuvenation

The tangible sensations

Revealing the spring
