canceled
like most things, we’re cancelled
lend me your body
let my thorns lie to rest
our crossing points are incompatible
systems—they find a language in
possibility
of Spinozian sad passions
and thus we don’t agree
in nature—the afternoons lack
luster and wonder in the landscape
of silence—like still lives we can’t
overcome in this continuous
patchwork
we call indifference, a subtlety for
power

A kicker ending. A timely, accurate poem about what we are experiencing.
