We Can Get There
I want ecstasy
long light of a cathedral
moon seeping through clouds
newly minted penny
rolling through my loose fingers
while you nap nearby
boat breaking water
foamy wake splashes
sun slathered on skin
your lips moist on mine
in this blue hour of need
headed down a path
bordered by lupine, wheat
what we most desire
fences that no longer fence
