waiting on the rain
dark clouds gather
swirl and spin overhead
skies darken
and a once gentle breeze
grows restless
a parched earth
aches for the sweet
taste
of life
we all stare up
and wonder when tears
will fall
a thinning atmosphere
let’s a burning sun
terrorize the soil
and there is little
we can do
but wait
