The Depths Below
The flat sea calls your
name
with a roar of waves
scraping your ear drums.
It rudely tosses you
aside
with perverse strength
and taps on your skull.
A flock of birds sing
out
and watch you sinking
to the depths below.
You are born a mermaid
from the depths of the
sea, a siren whose
song hypnotizes and
lures fishermen to
their graves in the sea.
