A
Country of Yes Men
From
those who protest on roads,
In
unforgiving winter,
To
those who lost jobs, savings
In
that whimsical lockdown.
We
are expected to be thankful
To
have survived so far
We
should be obliged,
To
have been shielded
When
the piles of dead, diseased
Were
abandoned to chance
Paeans
of praise,
I am
expected to sing
Or
face the prison
Should
I choose to question.
The
leader demands
We
obey,
Or
else.
