Olfactory Echoes
As I walk into the house
the smell of your cologne
still lingers;
faintly in the kitchen,
trailing from the front door
back into the bedroom,
where the rumpled bed
gives evidence of the
restless night;
and for a moment
it was as if
you were still
here.
