In My Mind’s Eye
The early rising sun
lightly laid
first fingers
on the still dark water
as you swam alone
in the hotel swimming pool,
your smooth blonde head held aloft,
a gently rounding ripple
containing you in a soft embrace
as you calmly parted the water,
a flowering water lily
drifting serenely
across a dawn dappling pond.
