The Moon is Silent
The moon wasn’t full
but was close enough
to fake it
and I slouched along below
wondering why
it kept following me
Then I knew
“Aha! It must be
my poems! The moon is a fan.”
Then I asked it,
because I figured
the moon might know,
“What’s the point
of writing poems, moon?”
“There is no point,”
said the moon,
“they are only something
you’ll leave behind
along with bones.”
