I am That
I am that,
That witness,
From immemorial,
The observer,
Perceptible, Present
But unknown,
I am that within you,
I, pervades all,
I prevail death,
Open eyes in another womb.
And Yet I remain I.
Veiled by the fruits of past,
I am that the devout seeks,
I am what is sought by
Renunciants of ochre robes.
I am that Buddha found,
The faithful pray for.
Ever present, undying,
Unassailable, free of chains.
I am that I am,
Truth, consciousness, bliss.
