Battle
Lines
Beware
the bitter.
They are the avant garde
that the world sends forth,
the front line of wayward warriors
who will vanquish the small peace
culled from the remnants
of a squandered life.
They will turn you, make you abandon
this small piece of placid relief,
the only remains rescued
from one life’s pain.
