The Fear
the fear is . . .
that the words
will disappear
like exes from
lost relationships
like your childhood
hopes and dreams
like loved ones
from: cancer,
suicide, old age—
all of the above.
the fear is . . .
the unknown
the what ifs
the what
could’ve
would’ve
or
should’ve been.
the fear is . . .
death
but so much more
and not much less.
