Clusters
Why
is everything sticking together
like
platelets improvising a clot?
-Moist
sea-green banknotes as I wonder
whether
I pushed one-or two?-tens into the cabbie's palm
in
the murkiness of two a.m.
-A
duo of “dragon's blood” cleansing pads I
drag
over my face to look sexier and less sebum-soaked
than
I've been advised to feel.
-Those
Bavarian gummy bears
consoling
each other in a mushed solidarity
seconds
before wet, chewy annihilation.
-Perspiring
partners fused together for too long
because
one was battling boredom
and
the other loathed loneliness.
-Worries
needling the anxious,
rocketing
a mislaid file into unemployment and eviction,
voiced
in curse words set off like firecrackers.
