Unburied
We
wanted
to get
at causes:
we
hunted
for
berry, grass,
water,
taproot,
bedrock.
When
you
go
digging,
expect
to get
dirty,
down in
the hole
so long
you
forget
what
light is.
I climb
out,
blinking,
to
stare
at the
bones
of all
I have
unearthed.
