Notes
to Self
A
list and another
life,
my life, in sloppy, needy
columns.
Words to represent
things
I (apparently) must have
to be
happy. Food. Paid bills. Items. I cling,
count,
as a measure of what I have
done,
what I can do, what I have
to
offer. Every single word listing
life's
need to be maintained:
Don't forget. Set a reminder. Mark the calendar.
Someone
said, "What must be done will
not
be ignored." Quantified, spelled out,
it
will swing on the kitchen wall, crumple
under
tissues in your bag's pocket, shuffle
into
the pile of apps in their drawer.
