Last
Call of Calypso
Loneliness is a phantom which
sucks the marrow from bones
of hope. Shadows dance
around the periphery of
your eyes, while you pray
for something living to
see the pale scars that
embed your heart.
Daily motions of
errands straddle you
in full submission with
fangs at your throat
While in the splintered
back of your mind,
You wonder
what the embrace
of strangers would
feel like in comparison
to the arms of sorrow
