Aged Pain

Aged Pain

Surreptitiously

biding my time

While swallows of

translucent orange suck

the acorn of life outside

my fishnet cracked window.

Reminiscing old

pains from lovers past

I take another sip and rest

the bottle upon the chair.

In a flurry of synapse

driven emotions,

I break the bottle

upon the wall;

Spilling the contents and watching

them bleed the carpet a vibrant amber

Aged pain never goes down easily,

and it always burns the worst

  1. Poem of depth and despair. Most beautiful if it weren’t so heartbreaking.
