Curiosity
killed the cat, but
it has kept me from
committing suicide
all these many years…
Constance Woodring
I am a 72-year-old retired psychotherapist/
educator/program developer/social activist who is getting
back to my true love of writing after 45 years in my
real job. I have a B.A. in English from Pennsylvania
State University (1963-1967), getting great marks from
John Barth and Paul West. I have a MSS from
Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social
Research (1968-70). I have written a novel,
Visiting
Hours, which is currently being reviewed for possible
publication by VINE LEAVES PRESS and
a
non-fiction book, What
Power? Which People? Reflections on Power Abuse and
Empowerment,
which I am trying to get published. Over many years I have written poems, songs
(I am also a musician), a play (Half
A Night with John Doe) and professional materials for conferences,
staff trainings and seminars. My poem, The Glass Jar, has been accepted for
publication by SICK LIT
MAGAZINE. My poem, On
the Death of My Parents, has been accepted for publication by DIME SHOW
