Twilight of the Year
Light fading
at the end of day,
journey’s time to rest.
Autumn shifts to winter.
Shadows deepen as December nears.
Gray the predominant feeling,
as clouds fill my head.
Time to close the door.
The sharp breath of winter,
like a knife plunged
into the heart of summer,
bleeding out all of her colors.
A dimensional shift,
reality on hold.
Time vaporizes into oblivion.
Fragments of life struggle to be whole.
In the twilight of the year.
